This is the installation of the 2500cc version on a replica from the Me 109. The D-motor flathead design was the perfect engine to solve the issue of the narrow cowling. It offers a direct driven, powerfull engine almost fitting (spark plugs not included) in the cowling. The lightweight was also very important like mentioned in this document
The installation started in March 2012 and first run (D-day) was in August 2012.
